One of our most popular decor requests this season is shabby chic, which combines relaxed elegance with the soft romance of antiques and distressed artifacts. Leaning calla lilies and delicate white floral arrangements are highlighted with pearl and silver accents, adding personal touches of character to an elegant white wedding.
Floral centrepieces shown range from $25 – $125. Décor accessories & linens additional.

Engagement season has officially passed, and soon-to-be newlyweds are flocking to start planning the details of their big day.To get in on the action we recently spent the weekend at the It’s My Wedding show at the Tradex in Abbotsford. We met some new designers, reconnected with old friends, and most importantly, saw some stunning styles and trends.
Here’s what we noticed is hot this season:
Rustic elegance still seems to be one of the leading trends for BC brides, with birch accents complimenting warm palettes. Pewters, chocolates and rich jewel tones look great in textured linens, such as pintuck and velvet.
Soothing tones of champagne and cream compliment each other perfectly and create an air of enveloping warmth for a naturally sophisticated design.
Manzanita Branches and dripping crystals look elegant as always, and are perfect for the couple that loves to sparkle and shine!
For a dramatic change to the soft palettes we’re seeing this season, we created a gothic romance for the Table Decor Challenge. We paired vibrant red with luxurious black damask linens. To carry the theme throughout all elements, our branchy centrepiece was growing right out of a Harlequin romance novel!
We had a great time at It’s My Wedding, and we can’t wait to start ringing in wedding season. Bride or planner, our design team is available to discuss your vision in a complimentary consultation! CONTACT US to reserve a time convenient for you!

At Greenscape Design & Décor, we love the unique creative challenge of working with different wedding planners and couples to plan their special day. Every couple has their own distinct style and our wedding team works diligently to ensure that our décor designs reflect the individual personalities of our diverse bridal clients.
Wedding trends change from year to year, and what is showcased in bridal magazines often takes a huge budget to pull off. At Greenscape, we can provide cost effective décor solutions and can work within any budget to help carry your theme and colour choices throughout your event. Our large selection of rental inventory ensures that all design visions are possible and our in-house design build studio ensures quick turnaround for custom orders. Our 100% reusable and recyclable décor is also perfect for eco-conscious couples.
Three interesting themes that we have seen emerge so far this year: Glitz, Grace, and Glam.
Glitz!
Crystals, glass, pearls, and rhinestones are embellishing everything from hair ornaments, to dresses, to veils, to bouquets, centerpieces, and large décor items.
For hairstyles, Greenscape has created hair pins, hair vines, and bird cage veils that incorporate crystal accents with feathers or florals to create vintage glamour. Popular choices for flower girls include iridescent fairy wings and sparkly wands and baskets of shimmer flakes, diamond confetti, or rose petals.
For high impact décor pieces, jeweled décor pieces are popular this season. From trees made entirely of dazzling glass ice crystals to natural twig structures strung with crystal rope garlands, the look is elegant and classic.
Grace!
This theme is subtle, soothing and features single colour combinations or tone on tone mixes. Arrangements that have a just-picked or a looser more casual look are still a popular choice. White never goes out of style and many bridal flowers are available in whites and off-whites. New neutrals include greys and browns, which are very urban and work well if your venue is a modern restaurant or hotel.
Utilizing the same colour tones but creating arrangements of different sizes and shapes are also a way to add a more interesting feel and to create a less “coordinated” look. Unique vase filler include sea shells, glass pebbles, acrylic ice and fresh fruits such as lemons and limes.
Glam!

This theme is diverse and high contrast. From mixing and matching table shapes and sizes, incorporating bright and bold colours, and “blow-out-bouquets” that incorporate exotic florals, feathers, beads, and handmade elements – the look is fun, discordant and energizing.
Vivid lime orchids and sultry peacock feathers create a fresh and dynamic feel for this winter (yes winter!) wedding in Edmonton. Live orchids and peacock feathers are not abundant in Edmonton in the winter, but were integral to this couple’s theme so they were a perfect example of when “sometimes fake is better!”
